Big Time Turnover

They say things come in 3’s and today proved that adage correct. Over the course of 48 hours, we’ve seen the departure of Jonathan Miller from AOL, Ross Levinsohn from Fox Interactive and now Jason Calacanis of AOL-acquisition Weblogs.

Of the three, Calacanis is probably the least surprising given that his departure comes on the heels of his friend and pseudo-mentor Jonathan Miller’s departure from AOL. Levinsohn comes as a bit of shock to me given the enormous opportunity he’s been given at Fox and the likelihood for that empire to expand. However, I guess he’s seeking greener pastures.

Regardless of what we see on a day to day basis in this crazy web 2.0 world, these are three pretty significant events. I think the news of where they end up will be even more interesting than the news of their (sudden) departures.
